The Lifer

The Lifer by Primitive Man is a dual-effect pedal featuring both a Caustic Distortion and a Synth Drone. Designed in collaboration with Jon Campos and featuring artwork by Ethan Lee McCarthy, this pedal allows for independent operation of each circuit, with the option to bypass both using the Distortion footswitch. The Caustic Distortion excels at maintaining low-end clarity while emphasizing high mids, ensuring presence in any mix. With two op-amp gain stages and a JFET stage, it offers a broad range of gain for diverse applications on both bass and guitar. The Tone and Mids knobs provide extensive tonal shaping, while individual volume controls for each effect add flexibility. The Synth Drone includes three selectable voices with frequency adjustments and can be used as a stand-alone instrument when the distortion is turned down. A manual with control cipher is included for reference.
