The Boss OC-3 Super Octave is a modern take on a classic octave effect pedal. It features a one-octave-down circuit inspired by the vintage Boss Japanese Octaver, enhanced with a filter that modifies the octave signal and an upgraded clean/direct knob derived from a clean boost. Musically, the filter switch provides versatility; at the 12 o'clock position, it delivers a standard octave effect. Turning it clockwise emphasizes low mids for better presence in the mix, while turning it counterclockwise can produce a more aggressive sound that can dominate the audio spectrum.
