Introducing the SwirlPool Tremolo/Vibe pedal, Amptweaker’s inaugural venture into the realm of non-distortion effects, driven by overwhelming demand from fans on their website. This analog pedal draws inspiration from the synchronized Tremolo and Vibrato circuits found in classic 60’s amplifiers, capable of recreating a wide array of modulation sounds while also introducing some unique tones of its own.
Equipped with two footswitches for bypass and speed adjustments, users can effortlessly toggle between two distinct Speed and Vibe settings while utilizing a shared Tremolo control. When the Vibe knob is minimized, the output will focus solely on the tremolo effect, adjustable from smooth to 'Jerky.' However, as the Vibe is dialed in, the resulting blend can produce anything from a subtle vocal-like quality to a pronounced pitch modulation.
Additional switches allow for precise vibrato customization within the pedal. There's a Surf switch that enhances the vibe's tone for a more pronounced 'swimmy' effect, two switches that manipulate the phase relationship between the Tremolo and Vibe LFOs, and a switch to enable ramping between speeds. By experimenting with these options (see Suggested Settings Below), users can achieve a variety of tremolo, vibe, and rotary speaker tones that defined the 60’s and 70’s, and are still prevalent today. A master volume control is also included for easy volume balancing or boosting compared to the bypassed state.
