Secret Preamp

The Chase Tone Secret Preamp is a pedal that faithfully recreates the vintage 1970s solid-state Maestro EP-3 preamp circuit, delivering a warm and harmonically rich tone. This preamp enhances clarity and touch sensitivity while maintaining the core sound of your instrument, making it suitable for various musical styles. Musically, the Secret Preamp offers a 3-way mode switch (Bright, Dark, Mid) to replicate early, late, or hybrid-era EP-3 tones. The volume control is designed for unity gain, slight boost, or a transparent EQ-on output. This pedal operates on 9 V DC and internally boosts to approximately 22 V, providing ample headroom to push amplifiers or clean up effects. It is ideal for use at the end of the signal chain, enhancing overall tone and restoring clarity after multiple effects. The compact chassis fits standard pedalboard layouts and accommodates top-mount or rear-mount jacks for easy integration.
