The AIWA TP-1011 is a reel-to-reel tape recorder known for its echo effect capabilities, prominently used by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore during the 1974 "Burn" tour. This model provides a 1/3 second echo repeat that complements musical timing effectively. Musically, the AIWA TP-1011 produces a distinct echo that enhances live performances, allowing for more dynamic soundscapes. Blackmore also utilized the built-in microphone pre-amp as a booster, which contributed to a more robust tone, ultimately replacing his previously favored Hornby-Skewes treble booster.
