The Video Synthesizer by Critter & Guitari offers three distinct visual effects: the classic Video Scope, the graphic Rhythm Scope, and the monochromatic Black & White Video Scope. Each mode responds to incoming audio signals, translating sounds from instruments, vocals, or electronic sources into captivating visuals. As audio input is received, the synthesizer generates rectilinear graphics that sync with rhythms and arpeggios. The Random mode allows users to set a specific number of beats before automatically switching to a new visual pattern, keeping the visuals dynamic and engaging.
