The Power Drive by Idiotbox Effects is a versatile boost and overdrive pedal that delivers a raw and powerful sound. Building on the foundation of the original Colorsound Power Boost, this updated version features a charge pump, allowing it to operate close to 18V using a standard 9V supply.
Musically, the Power Drive offers a wide range of tones, from crisp highs to solid low-end undertones, while avoiding the typical compression found in many similar pedals. The inclusion of voltage control allows for operation anywhere from 3V, providing a sputtery vintage effect, to a full 17V for high headroom overdrive.
