Product Description
Dual Mid Frequency Equalizer
The MIDTOWN is a dual-band equalizer crafted for accurate manipulation of mid-range frequencies. The High Mid EQ section features a bandpass EQ with an adjustable center frequency ranging from 1.5 kHz to 12 kHz. Meanwhile, the Low Mid EQ section offers both bandpass and shelving EQ options with a center frequency span of 100 Hz to 800 Hz. Each band provides a +/-12 dB cut/boost capability through their individual level controls.
The Low Mid EQ section includes a PEAK/SHELF switch, allowing for both bandpass and shelving equalization curves. The PEAK mode enables precise frequency adjustments, while the SHELF mode facilitates broad tonal shaping for the lower mid-range.
The MASTER level control allows for +/-10 dB adjustment of the overall output level, applied after the EQ settings. For connecting directly to professional audio systems, an optional XLR adapter provides a balanced output.
With its expanded high-frequency range, the MIDTOWN pedal is especially ideal for acoustic guitarists seeking greater clarity and brilliance. In bass guitar applications, the meticulous frequency control helps manage unwanted boominess, while the Low Mid Shelf EQ setting enhances warmth and depth in any instrument's tone.
The placement of MIDTOWN in your effects pedal chain depends on its intended use. Positioning it early in the chain allows you to refine your guitar’s mid-frequency contour before it encounters any gain or distortion effects. Conversely, placing MIDTOWN towards the end provides final mid-tone equalization before the signal reaches the amplifier or mixing console. In this setup, the MASTER level control can be used to ensure the final output level integrates seamlessly into the mix.
