Product Description
The Lumin project serves as an imitation of the BBE® Sonic Stomp / Sonic Maximizer. It draws inspiration from the efforts of Bajaman (as detailed on FSB) and Sebastian Montti (stm) on DIYStompboxes, who worked on replicating the capabilities of BBE’s exclusive NJM2150AD chip. The BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer rack unit made its debut in the late 1980s and quickly became renowned among sound engineers for its ability to enhance signal clarity—often compared to the sensation of removing a blanket from a speaker cabinet. This circuit is known for producing “frequency-dependent time alignment,” allowing audio frequencies to reach the speaker in a more effective manner. The “BBE process” is widely used in various professional audio setups beyond the music industry to improve sound quality.
