The Crazy Tube Circuits Locomotive is a bass overdrive pedal that utilizes a 12AY7 tube, reminiscent of those found in vintage tweed bass amplifiers. This design allows for a broad gain range, offering everything from a substantial clean boost to a warm, organic tube distortion, while maintaining excellent touch sensitivity and dynamic response. Musically, the Locomotive produces rich, full-bodied tones that emulate the compression characteristics of a classic tube amp. The addition of a clean control lets you blend your dry signal, ensuring that all bass frequencies are preserved. With a low impedance output, the pedal can also function effectively as a standalone preamp. It operates on a standard 9V DC supply, featuring an internal voltage multiplier to achieve the necessary tube voltages.
