At its core, the Fuzz Preamp boasts a fuzz stage built on silicon transistors, delivering the massive clipping and responsiveness to your playing dynamics and guitar volume that defines top-tier fuzz pedals. However, you’re not confined to just the silicon fuzz tone—the FP-1 incorporates a "sliding bias" GAIN control and transistor current sourcing to emulate the sound and behavior of germanium transistors as well. The Silicon mode captures the heavy compression and "exploding amp" effect characteristic of BC108 silicon transistor fuzzes, while the Germanium mode mimics the smoother, more transparent tone of classic NKT275 germanium transistor fuzzes.
