Full-Drive 3

The Fulltone Full-Drive3 is a versatile overdrive pedal that combines a JFET input with a JFET op-amp, aiming to deliver a tube-like sound without the need for actual tubes. Its high input impedance ensures compatibility with various pickups, allowing for responsive interaction with your guitar's volume control. Musically, the Full-Drive3 offers a range of tonal options through its 3-way clipping toggle switch. In the 90's setting, it provides symmetrical clipping with a pronounced midrange. The WIDE ASYM mode enhances highs and lows, producing chimey, Class-A style overtones, while the COMP-CUT mode delivers a pure op-amp overdrive with significant volume boost potential. The pedal features discrete OVERDRIVE and BOOST channels that can be arranged in either order. The BOOST channel is a transparent, high-headroom circuit powered entirely by JFETs. Additionally, the DYNAMICS knob, featuring a Germanium diode Limiter circuit, helps manage dynamics and transient spikes, enhancing overall playability. The Full-Drive3's housing is also about 20% smaller than its predecessor, the FD2.
