freerange
Analogwise PedalsProduct Description
The “Freerange” is a handcrafted germanium preamp that, when pushed to its limits, blurs the lines between a preamp and overdrive, occasionally venturing into fuzz territory. Inside, it features two amplification stages, utilizing vintage New Old Stock germanium transistors. Each stage can be individually configured as a treble booster, a full-range booster, or a clean(ish) amplifier. These stages are arranged in series, meaning the output from the first stage is further enhanced by the second. The main control knob operates a 6-position rotary selector switch, allowing you to select different capacitor setups. This switch modifies the input capacitor and the one connecting the two germanium stages, influencing the flow of low and high frequencies. The “Freerange” can be powered using a standard guitar pedal power supply.
