The Fliptop is a JFET preamp inspired by the B15 amplifier. Its gain staging and EQ components have been meticulously crafted to replicate the feel and responsiveness of classic tube amplifiers, providing a rich, plush tone that can be pushed into a subtle overdrive when desired.
Along with the James stack EQ and gain control, the Fliptop features a Master volume knob on the output, allowing you to fine-tune the level of drive while managing the overall volume.
The Cab knob functions as a wet/dry control, enabling you to blend 0 to 100% of the cab tone into the preamp output. Increasing the cab response tightens the bass and reduces the highs for a warm, vintage character. The frequency response mimics that of a 15" cabinet.
