The Tech 21 DP-3X is a compact pedal designed to recreate dUg Pinnick's signature sound, blending high-end distortion with robust bass tones. This all-analog unit allows for the iconic tones developed in the '80s without the need for extensive rig setups, streamlining the process for live performances.
Musically, the DP-3X offers versatility, capable of producing both dUg’s distinctive tone and traditional bass amp sounds. The Mix mode engages Drive for distortion and Chunk for upper harmonics, while the Gain button adds extra distortion and compression. Clean/full-range mode maintains clarity by disengaging Drive and Chunk, keeping Comp and Gain active.
Additional features include a 3-band active EQ with switchable Mid, master Volume control, chromatic tuner, headphone output, and an XLR Output for direct connection to PA systems or recording setups.
