DRV - White/Pink
1981 InventionsProduct Description
This pedal features a uniquely crafted steel casing, built with top-notch components throughout. I aimed to invest in quality without compromise. I understand that when it comes to guitar gear, selecting the best components and designs can be subjective, so I chose my personal favorites. Among these are Switchcraft 11 open frame jacks and an ultra-quiet soft touch switching mechanism utilizing an internal relay.
After nearly three years of development, in collaboration with Jon Ashley of Bondi Effects, I'm proud to present a pedal that stands out both in design and sound, particularly in the lower gain and boost settings. It offers a nuance that feels reminiscent of vintage pedals rather than merely modifying a classic. The pedal contains two circuits: a distortion and a preamp boost, operating at 18v through an internal voltage regulator. My intention was to carve out a unique sound for myself, and I discovered that it's an incredibly versatile tool for producing various tones. I take special pride in the lower gain side, which I believe is the most distinctive aspect of the pedal; however, the gain section also delivers a rich and sweet sound, particularly well-suited for heavy and intricate chords. It boasts a midrange punch I adore, along with a warmth and thickness that brings to mind a ribbon microphone. The evolution of this pedal into something fresh and unique inspired me to launch 1981 Inventions, making it the inaugural release.
