Crafted with a distinct steel housing and premium components, this pedal embodies my commitment to quality without compromise. In the diverse world of guitar gear, selecting the finest parts can be challenging, so I chose my personal favorites. This includes Switchcraft 11 open frame jacks and a whisper-quiet soft touch switching mechanism utilizing an internal relay.
After nearly three years of dedicated work, in collaboration with Jon Ashley from Bondi Effects, I've created a pedal that stands out both in design and sound, particularly in its lower gain and boost settings. It possesses a nuance reminiscent of vintage pedals rather than merely being a reinterpretation of a classic. The pedal features two circuits: one for distortion and another for preamp boost, operating at 18v thanks to an internal voltage regulator. My intention was to carve out a unique sound, and I've found it to be an incredibly versatile tool for a wide array of tones. I take particular pride in the lower gain aspect, as it showcases the pedal's most distinctive qualities. Additionally, the gain section delivers a rich, melodic tone, especially for dense and intricate chords. There's a punchy midrange and a warmth akin to a ribbon mic. The evolution of this pedal into something truly innovative inspired the launch of 1981 Inventions, making it the inaugural release.
