DRV - Green Sparkle
1981 InventionsProduct Description
Crafted with a distinct steel casing and high-quality components, this pedal reflects my commitment to excellence. Understanding that there isn't always a definitive choice in guitar gear, I selected my preferred elements, including Switchcraft 11 open frame jacks and an ultra-quiet soft touch switching system utilizing an internal relay.
After nearly three years of collaboration and engineering with Jon Ashley from Bondi Effects, I believe this pedal stands out both in design and sound, particularly in its lower gain and boost settings. It possesses a subtlety reminiscent of vintage pedals rather than a mere modification of a classic. The pedal features two circuits: a distortion and a preamp boost, operating at 18v through an internal voltage regulator. My aim was to carve out a unique sound for myself, and I discovered that it serves as a versatile tool for achieving a wide array of tones. I take particular pride in the lower gain side, which I find to be the most distinctive aspect of the pedal, while the gain section delivers a beautifully rich tone, especially for heavy and intricate chords. There’s a midrange punch that I adore, along with a warmth and thickness akin to a ribbon mic. The evolution of this pedal into something original and special inspired the launch of 1981 Inventions, making it my first official release.
