Compact Series NOS Rangemaster
British Pedal CompanyProduct Description
The British Pedal Company Compact Series NOS Rangemaster delivers a sleek, modern version of the legendary Dallas Rangemaster treble booster, one of the most celebrated effects in music history. This NOS model features genuine vintage components (new old stock) integrated into a contemporary pedal design. First introduced in 1965, it has been a favorite among renowned musicians like Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Rory Gallagher, Brian May, Marc Bolan, and Ritchie Blackmore, among others. The Dallas Rangemaster was created to enhance the guitar's signal strength before it reaches the amplifier, boosting high-frequency tones. The demand for a treble booster emerged in the mid-1960s, as British tube amplifiers often produced a somewhat dark, muddy sound when driven hard, especially with humbucking pickups. While primarily labeled as a treble booster, the Rangemaster also served as an overdrive pedal, providing a more distorted yet focused tone with various classic British amplifiers.
