The Cerulean Amp Overdrive is a modern take on the iconic Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal, which was manufactured from 1991 to 1999. Renowned in its own right, this pedal served as the foundation for several high-end boutique pedals, most famously the Analogman King of Tone, which combines two Bluesbreakers in one unit with some enhancements.
In 1995, Marshall transitioned production from England to Korea and made some adjustments to the circuit during this period, boosting the gain while lowering the bass response. The Cerulean project features a switch that lets you toggle between the original and modified modes, allowing you to experience the differences firsthand. Additionally, it incorporates the enhanced clipping options from the King of Tone, giving you the choice of soft clipping (standard), hard clipping, or no clipping at all (boost mode).
