The MSD Bonnie Blue is an overdrive pedal designed to deliver classic American overdrive tones reminiscent of the 1970s. Utilizing voltage-doubling technology, it captures a range of sounds, from the “Hollow-Honk” of the Allman Brothers to the smooth leads of Santana and the dynamic playing of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks. At higher gain settings, the Bonnie Blue can also produce tones similar to the Tone Bender, known for its use by Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. With substantial headroom, this pedal maintains clarity and definition, avoiding muddiness even at high levels. A gain switch enables it to function as a clean booster with minimal distortion, offering flexibility across various playing styles.
