The EarthQuaker Devices Sunn O))) Life Pedal V3 is a multi-function distortion pedal that features classic analog distortion, an adjustable octave-up effect, and a high-output MOSFET boost. The pedal’s distortion circuit builds on the “White Face” distortion design, with three selectable clipping modes: No Diode OpAmp Drive, silicon/LED asymmetrical clipping, and dual silicon diodes. The octave-up circuit is fully analog and its blend can be controlled via a dedicated knob or optional expression pedal. This effect is monophonic and most pronounced on single notes above the 12th fret, while chords introduce complex overtones. The boost section provides a clean MOSFET boost for increased output, without adding additional distortion. The signal path runs from octave to distortion to boost, and each section (distortion/octave, boost) can be activated independently. The pedal features true bypass switching and is equipped with standard 1/4" mono input/output.
